Girl..Put Your Record On. You're Like A Star in The Sea

Venue: The Hospital Club, London
Date: 15.03.10
I feel just Like A Star , my wish was granted to see the talented endearing soul star Corinne Bailey Rae who won the love of my Choux Pastry Heart.with Thanks to Sam x
The crowd awaits the set change after a bedazzling energised gig opening by Corinne's supporting act, avante-garde musician Fyfe Dangerfield (founding member of the band Guillemots) with his band currently dubbed the Babes, they perform She Needs Me amongst other new releases.

Soulful songstress Corinne is greeted by a reserved audience, I am one of the handful of fans feening for the over-excitement of her arrival on stage. She stands there in a world of her own, wedding band still observed, guitar strapped to her petite, meek self and shying at her emotions.

Opening her show with Are you here set the tone of where she is at in her music career and life at this moment in time; a new beginning, finding her feet, the past gone but not forgotten.

A heart felt performance the rendition of her hit single, Like a Star, poured heavy with sadness and, though the performance was close to perfection, the audience was sombre and compassionate relating to Corinne's state of mind. Nevertheless a very memorable moment for myself, delivered beautifully that took me to a precious place, I am sure others would agree.

Elevating the mood, Corinne delivers a variety of uptempo tracks taken from her new album titled The Sea. She shares a very intimate performance of  Closer, full of chemistry and longing. Unforgettable, indeed.

Using a variety of guitars and tambourines, Corinne also shares with us, the soft, romantic, memodic gentle sounds of "an instrument she found in an old folk shop in Leeds" she explains before ending the show with an intense ballad, The Sea

Harmonising with her band
Corinne wears: Asymmetric one sleeve jumpsuit with sash waistband detail, available at REISS

A not-so Mundane Monday for Madame Moi

Passing through the Mondays is a struggles for all of us. Monotonous and mundane, I would agree. At least the sun was out to flirt with us. Though I love the spring breeze caressing my hair, co-ordintating an outfit to adapt to the deceiving sunny ol' weather in UK can be a task in itself. Why is it that we seemingly throw on our outfits and the minute you set foot outdoors, the weather is ever changing, especially the day and the evenings *Brrrrr chills*

With Melody Gardot tracks on my itouch, hints of florals in the air, the general mood is refreshing and I feel playful with the styling.

I added a frivolous but sweet, tongue and chic touch to the look, I wore my cupcake necklace, available from Monsoon. I add a Madame Moi customisation to it by simply adding colour to the cupcake dangle charm with nail polish which is accessible if you don't have special paints.

Cupcake for the Cuties

Simply choose your colour, paint away, be careful you don't get the polish over your clothes. Tweezers will help you paint when you are painting the delicate detailing. Leave to dry and all within a matter of a minute, it's your own!

Remember to leave it to dry for at least 5 min and a small touch of hairspray will help hold the polish in place. Why not be adventurous and throw a little glitter for that sparkle before the polish dries

On my way into London for some Spring Summer style notes this season, here, I wear fresh colours, minimal on the darker tones with accents rich aubergines, teal, creams with hints of pastel locked in with tones of camel.

The key pieces are Marc Jacobs around my neck to keep the breeze away, Anne Klein limited edition handbag (One of my favoritos!)to carry Madame Moi goodies.

The dress worn here is actually a skirt layered up with a pretty vintage Beyond Retro rara skirt to add volume and the block colour belt cinches in the waist to comliment the silhouette.  This look is a fusion of garments old and new, romantic and with festival chic influences.

Neckaccessories. Check out Madame Moi FB page for more style tips <3

Little Dragon "Machine Dreams" Gig

Venue: Relentless garage, Islington London
Date: 04.03.10

Little Dragon an electronic music band consisting of  4 school friends, members include the talented and beautiful Swedish-Japanese singer Yukimi Nagan and friends Erik Bodin (drums), Fredrik Källgren Wallin (bass), and Håkan Wirenstrand (keyboards).

Check out a couple of my favourite tunes taken from their self titled album, Little Dragon

Little Dragon - Constant Surprises
Little Dragon - Recommendation

Promoting their newest album, 'Machine Dreams'. Little Dragon, bring about their unique, electro-funk, soulful, folkesque, music vibes and fuse it up with synths of organic melodic notes that are very original. A gig with awesomeness and plenty of energy, though very talented are the LD, they retain a humbleness about them which is endearing and earthy, gotta love them! They will be back this Summer so I will keep an eye out for dates!

Googoo for Gaga giggidy. Dancing all the way to the MONSTER BALL

Venue: London 02 Arena
Date: 26.02.10

Hiccups aside with TM (TicketMaster), I missed the Corinne Bailey Rae gig at Shepherds Boosh (Bush) due to some LONG mishaps #Epic fail! It was Corinne's first gig in London after the sad departing of her husband :(

Feeling the need to drag TM to hell, I ranted about it to FB and BBMers (Blackberry Messengers) and a friend, a very dear friend happened to sympathise and knew I had wanted to see the Lady Gaga. Two days before the Gaga gig, I received a message from my friend Mike to say he has a ticket for me since TM had failed me with the Corinne tickets, (He could have easily flogged it off for £200, easily, the point is, he didn't..aww..bless!) My heart stopped. I ran around room screaming and knocking everything over in the process, okies, slight exaggeration but that's what I did in my mind.

Excited to go to the gig, I knew I had to pay homage to the Queen of dramtical costume, I also had a Punk Goth leaving party to head to on the same evening. the pressure was on for MadameMoi to produce something fantastical and bowtastic. Headgear at the ready; wires, sewing machine, unpicker, ribbons, an abundance of fabrics and accessories.

Blessed, Lucky and Proud to be at Lady Gaga's first official London gig.

SHE is freakin' awesomeness. I don't think anyone can top her in theatrical entertainment, costume, sets, singing!

Rah-raaah-rom-maaa-maaa..Gaga Oooh lala

Shout out to MIKE..THANK YOU. I can truly say, you haven't seen entertainment of the highest calibre until you have see the Gaga. I am, hands down, a li'l Monster fan. Gone diamond and finally accepted as a real artist, not just for the rad fashion.  If you get the chance to see her live, GO..LIVE! You don't know any better until you really do!
*Paw up and show me your teeth, 'cos I'm a free(k) bitch baby*

Rockin' at the Punk party after the Gaga show.

The Look:
♥ Headgear with uber bowtastics and asymmetric bunny ears.
♥ Crimp the hair for volume and texture. Back comb underneath and add hairspray for extra hold. Use those paws to scrunch it up.
♥ Neon lashes and silver purple glitter around the eyes. Matt lips.
♥ Washed out denim corset, leather corset waistcoat and belt layered over simple black Vest with an abundance of rosettes and corsages.
♥ Chains and acrylic jewels, matt and bling contrast.
♥ Chloe Acrylic chunky diamond neon bangle as a highlight to accent a hint of vibrant colour. Oversized bling watch as a statement over a statement! WOWzaz.
♥ Lace gloves with fingerless net cloves over, pin on accessories, brooches and badges. Wear the rings over the gloves for the 80's fix.
♥ Triple layer tutu, mix up the colours and print, this also gives the silhouette an umph!

On the transit train from K8tyC to Madame Moi

LAST WEEKS 1st ENTRY..

"Hello, hello, baby. You called, I can’t hear a thing. I have got no service in the club, you see, see. Wha-Wha-What did you say?
Oh, you’re breaking up on me. Sorry, I cannot hear you, I’m kinda busy."

Living up to the Hype. The eagerly anticipated video was dropped late lastnight and hella "HELLO!". Telephone video

The 10min video is much inspired by the work of Quentin Tarantino, Kill Bill in particular, which actually features the real 'Pussy wagon' from the movie. This video extravaganza is cleverly directed by Jonas Åkerlund. The connotation behind the video convey a very strong and powerful message, "Don't f*ck with the ladies, boyfriend"
Virgin mobile must have exchanged a fortune of a contract to win the video endorsement aswell as Beats by Dre (Earphones and laptop) cameoing in the video.

Epic and Iconic, the vid is a continuation of Gaga's Paparazzi. The outfits follow through aswell as the storyline, either that or Gaga spent all her Benjamins on her Magical and fantastical Monster Ball gig, designed and made within 2 weeks, (she scrapped her American gig due to boredom, What a Free(k) bitch baby!)

The choreography of Gaga and Queen B fused together with influences of MJ, they kill it to the beat (though, I dare say that the acting of Honey B lacked a li'l tongue and chic) I am sure we will be seeing those moves tearing up the dancefloor.

The finale with the unstoppable Girlfriend duo doing their routine in Wonderwomanesque stylee, Go America, boy what a scene! I see the new stars and stripe trend hitting already, patriots at the ready!

A sequel or prequel will be on demand, the suspense, to be continued..

LOVE, LOATHE, YAY or NAY?

<3

P.S. Gaga is planning a 3D Tour and DVD straight after in the UK, say whuua whuaaaat?
